Bentley Flying Spur pickup truck goes on sale for less than its cost

A luxurious 2005 Bentley Flying Spur is looking for a new owner in the UK. It has a six-liter W12 under the hood, 567 PS (560 hp / 417 kW) at its disposal and just 56,000 km (35,000 miles) of use on the drivetrain. But there’s a catch: it’s not a saloon anymore, but a truck.

DC Customs reported completing the build a few months ago (see video). The project was touted as the world’s only one of its kind and extremely challenging to carry out, at that. Looking at the front half, you may as well not notice anything’s amiss. The rear half has been redone from scratch, though, ending with a wood-lined cargo bed and all-new bodywork in between the halves making the transition almost imperceptible.

The interior is trimmed with light brown leather and suede. There is a standard navigator on board, as well as a reversing camera and a stock multimedia system. The oily bits under the hood also stay largely untouched.

Price-wise, the owner paid around £120,000 to have his luxury sedan turned into a light pickup. The donor car itself cost a bit more than that. It is now being offered for a low £149,000 – perhaps it didn’t live up to the owner’s expectations, after all.
