The stock BMW M3 Competition xDrive is about as good as you would expect a four-door sports car to be, even setting rather high standards for other marques. In AutoTopNL’s latest video, a tuned example takes it to the max at a German speedway.
This particular M3 has a Pure Turbos kit installed and churns out 708 PS (698 hp / 521 kW), as well as up to 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The specifics are glossed over in the video, but the car is apparently able to finish its sprint in breezy 2.9 seconds and proceed to hit 311 km/h (193 mph).
Powering the standard M3 is a 3.0-liter inline-six twin-turbo that normally produces 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque in the Competition spec. The sprint time to 100 km/h (62 mph) is manufacturer-rated at 4.1 seconds, and the top speed does not exceed 250 km/h (155 mph) without options.
