BMW shows the track-only version of the new M4 GT4 Coupe

The next-gen BMW M4 GT4 track tool starts at €187,000, or $193,000, twice the price of the standard M4 Competition. The production will start in October.

The new M4 GT4 boasts a number of special aerodynamic parts, including a hood with air intakes, as well as adjustable front splitter and rear wing. Everything is made from lightweight compounds.

Interior highlights include a roll cage, Recaro driver’s seat, a racing yoke wheel, and the M Track Cockpit. Infotainment UI provides access to various in-car functions via touchscreens.

In spite of its track-only status, the car comes pre-equipped with an air conditioner and a windshield heater.

The suspension uses KW shocks along with tension-adjustable H&R springs and configurable sway bars. The entire stability control system has been revamped, while the torque vectoring system now offers as many as ten presets.

Found under the hood is the usual 3.0-liter inline-six engine boosted up to 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque in tandem with a seven-speed ZF automatic, LSD and modified driveshaft.

It remains to be seen how fast the M4 GT4 Coupe is. The stock M4 CSL equipped with the same engine, but an eight-speed automatic transmission needs 3.7 seconds for its standard sprint exercise.

Shipments are expected to begin before the next year’s track reason. BMW promises to have the car homologated for all GT4 series races by then.
