BMW 7-Series gets clad in discreet BR6 ballistic armor

Inkas, a Canada-based vendor of armored vehicles, has revealed its take on the luxurious BMW 760i. The sedan features BR6-grade ballistic protection, meaning it can withstand sustained fire from the AK-47 and similar rifles.

With some undercarriage and fuel tank armor added, it can also survive a hand grenade blast underneath. Aside from the usual composite armor layers, the tuner used ballistic glass panes and layered door frame reinforcements to ensure that not a millimeter goes unprotected. Considering how complex the approach is, it’s seriously impressive to us how stock the 7-Series looks in the photos above. You’d be challenged to spot any modifications unless you knew where exactly to look.

The interior has been upgraded with a fire suppression system, a night vision camera, a surveillance camera and an oxygen filtration system. Inkas lists other options on its website as well, such as flashing beacons, loudspeakers, driver/passenger partitions, etc.

All the plating must have substantially increased the weight of this 760i, so it’s lucky to have a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 to lug that around with 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW). Inkas never revealed any pricing details, but you could always make an inquiry if interested.
