Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled a new sedan called the Destroyer 07. The car fits into the manufacturer’s warship-themed series, so the formidable name refers to a fast and agile armored military ship.
The car is sized 4,980 x 1,890 x 1,495 millimeters with 2,900 millimeters of wheelbase, making it approximately 100 mm (4 inches) longer than the current Toyota Camry. It sports original Denza-style headlights, a sporty body and a built-in spoiler.
Rumor has it that the Destroyer 07 runs on the same platform as the BYD Han. It will arrive to the market with a choice between two petrol-electric systems. Both will be based on the same 1.5-liter engine block, but one will be turbocharged and the other one naturally aspirated. The available batteries will yield from 121 to 200 km (75–124 miles) of all-electric range. Adaptive suspension will be included in the base package.
The sales are expected to start in the second half of 2023, and the minimum price will be close to 200,000 Yuan. All other specifications will be revealed closer to the launch date.
