Cadillac has unveiled a vehicle it had never offered before – officially positioned as a coupe-like counterpart to the XT4 SUV, it actually resembles a high-riding hatchback more than anything. Per AutoHome, prices in China start from 219,700 Yuan.
That’s around $31,000, but the model was designed solely for the Chinese market. Running on the XT4 platform, it is slightly longer and less tall than the SUV at 4,633 mm long and 1,535 mm tall. The width amounts to 1,878 mm and the wheelbase to 2,800 mm. As usual with such cars, the sloped roof eats away trunk space: the GT4 only has 289 liters of luggage room with the seats raised and 1,190 liters with them folded. For comparison, the XT4 has a minimum of 460 liters.
On the outside, the crossover hatch sports new c-pillars, very slim CT6-style headlights and black trim around its lower body. An optional trim package is available for those who would like more black details all around.
The cabin has the same 33-inch display, HVAC panel and steering wheel as the CT6 sedan. The gear selector sits on the steering column.
For the engines, you can choose between two options: 1.5T and 2.0T. The former delivers 211 PS (208 hp / 155 kW) along with 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque, while the latter makes 237 PS (234 hp / 174 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Both use the same nine-speed A/T, but only the top spec supports optional AWD.
The Cadillac GT4 will not go on sale outside of China anytime soon.
