Chinese company Didi specializes in passenger transportation, but it also works on designing future means of mobility. Its latest concept is called the Neuron and is a driverless taxi that the company plans to start testing in 2025.
The vehicle is 4.5 meters (14.76 feet) long and very spacious, not least because there are no wheel arches jutting into the cabin – the wheels are spaced farther apart. There is also no driver’s cockpit or traditional controls.
The passengers sit facing each other. Getting in and out occurs through traditional swinging doors. There is a feature-rich multimedia system on board and a mechanical manipulator arm that can hand you a water bottle, load your luggage and even wake you up if you fall asleep.
