New DS №7 touches down in France

The mid-size crossover SUV known as the DS 7 appeared in the French automaker’s portfolio in 2017, getting its first facelift in 2022. It has now been phased out by a new model called the №7 (“number seven”). Preorders in Europe are already running with the EV version starting from €64,200.

The new SUV is 4,660 mm (182 inches) long, 1,900 mm (74.2 inches) wide and 1,630 mm (63.7 inches) tall with 2,790 mm (109 inches) between the axles. As such, it is 70 mm (2.7 inches) longer than its predecessor with 50 mm (2 inches) of added wheelbase, but otherwise similar. The minimum trunk size is 500 liters (17.66 cubic feet).

On the exterior side of things, the DS №7 sports a coupe-like body with short overhangs, fang-shaped DRLs and a large air intake in the lower bumper. It’s also fairly low-drag with a Cx ratio of just 0.26, making it an appealing choice for EV enthusiasts.
The interior houses a 10-inch digital dashboard, a 16-inch infotainment touchscreen and a slightly squared four-spoke steering wheel. The tunnel is stacked and offers a single wireless phone charger.

Power for the №7 comes from a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine assisted by a 28-PS (28-hp / 21-kW) electric motor built into the car’s six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The combined output doesn’t exceed 145 PS (143 hp / 107 kW).

All-electric options include 230 PS (227 hp / 169 kW) FWD, 260 PS (256 hp / 191 kW) FWD, and 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) AWD. The latter can sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.4 seconds. Depending on the modification, the №7 can do between 543 and 740 kilometers (337–460 miles) on a charge.
