Rare Zimmer Golden Spirit nearly sold for $19k

Car-making company Zimmer Motorcars tracks its history back to the late 1970s when it was founded, but it hasn’t made any major headlines recently. Now, a rare Zimmer Golden Spirit sports car has cropped up on sale, giving us an excuse to introduce you to this charming retro-themed brand.

The bizarre coupe you see here hides a 2011 Ford Mustang under all that mascara. The front bumper is gone, and the nose part is way longer than it was. The wheel arches look like their ancestors from nearly a century ago, and a spare wheel is mounted at each side – likely just an ornament, judging by its different size and design.

Novelty inside boils down to red leather trim on the seats, a matching steering wheel, plaques on the door cards and special stitching all around. The power to the tune of 418 PS (412 hp / 307 kW) is still provided by the Mustang’s trusty Coyote V8.

The bidding is currently at $19,000 with only a couple of hours remaining on the clock. The seller specified no reserve, so the deal is bound to conclude one way or another.
