Ford Europe debuted the new Tourneo Connect last year, but only as a compact passenger van. For those interested in an LCV version, the company has now unveiled something different: the second-gen Transit Courier.
In this new design iteration, the LCV offers 2.9 cubic meters (102.4 cubic feet) of cargo space, a substantial improvement over the previous 2.3 cubic meters (81.2 cubic feet). The cargo compartment itself is now longer, and a hatch was added in the partition between the trunk area and the driver’s cabin that you can open to transport long and thin objects.
Customers may choose between a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-pot rated at 100 PS (99 hp / 74 kW), its stronger version boosted to 125 PS (123 hp / 92 kW), and a turbo diesel churning out the same 100 PS. Finally, there is an all-electric Transit Courier in the lineup now, too, armed with a single front-axle motor. The output is decent at 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft), but the battery range has yet to be revealed.
