GAC Trumpchi unleashes a soft-roader in Inner Mongolia

GAC Group has finished testing a new large crossover SUV in one of China’s coldest regions, Inner Mongolia. AutoHome.cn reports that it is scheduled for a debut with Trumpchi badging at the Auto Beijing show in late April.

Starting with the exterior, it is ostentatiously geometric and clean, sporting a nearly flat hood, a solid panel where the grille usually is and flared, unpainted fenders. According to unofficial sources, the model is internally known as the Trumpchi T75 (name liable to change), and will be billed as a rugged SUV for the adventurous types.

The cabin remains to be revealed, but a LiDAR above the windshield tells us it’s going to be heavy on modern tech. Air-ride suspension and drive-by-wire steering wheel are also high on our list of expectations.

We suppose that the new T75 may inherit the plug-in hybrid powertrain of the GAC Trumpchi M8 last updated with a special edition in 2024 (see video). Any specifics will have to wait until the premiere, though.
