Geely Atlas L comes to the market in China

Geely has announced the pricing for its Atlas L crossover in China. The second generation made a move to a new platform, increased in size and received new, previously unavailable options. The base trim costs from 129,800 Yuan.

For their money, buyers get a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine good for 181 PS (179 hp / 133 kW) and 290 Nm (214 lb-ft) of torque delivered through a seven-speed DCT. The next trim level gets you a 2.0-liter turbo, 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) and 325 Nm (240 lb-ft) of torque with the same gearbox.

Those wishing to spend less fuel may want to consider the hybrid version, which brings together a three-cylinder petrol engine with 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and an electric motor with 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW). Working in tandem, the two can drive the wheels with 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) and 545 Nm (400 lb-ft) of torque at most. The battery on board is not chargeable, but the hybrid is the least fuel-hungry car of the bunch with the average consumption at 4.7 liters per 100 km (50 MPG).

The standard features include an infotainment system based on Geely’s proprietary OS, a 13.25-inch touchscreen display and a 10.25-inch virtual dashboard. A heads-up display and an Infinity audio system can be found under paid options. The same applies to LED lighting, leather trim, ventilated seats and surround view cameras. The top trim level will set you back 175,800 Yuan.

The Geely Atlas L comes based on the CMA architecture also used by the Geely Tugella and the Volvo XC40. Aside from being much larger than the first generation car, it also looks drastically different and has a largely new cabin.
