Haval gets a LWB Raptor ready to rumble

The Chinese automaker’s Raptor a.k.a. Menglong SUV seems ripe for a three-row update, autohome.cn claims quoting data from the local Ministry of Industry database. It will be known as the Raptor V7 Plus and should become available in a few months.

The stretched Raptor measures 4,912 mm (191.9 inches) long, 1,950 mm (76.2 inches) wide and 1,886 mm (73.7 inches) tall with 2,850 mm (111.3 inches) between the axles. The 112 mm (4.4 inches) of extra wheelbase make it possible for it to accommodate a third row of seats. The trunk area has likely been reduced, but we will have to wait for full specifications to confirm this.

On the outside, the V7 Plus version stands out with its distinct headlights and radiator grille, while the rest stays the same. Inside, the steering wheel is now properly round and has three spokes instead of two. It also looks like both displays on the dash may have grown a little, but a single spy photo makes it hard to draw conclusions.
Knowing Haval, the Raptor V7 Plus will most likely reach the showrooms equipped with the same hybrid powertrain as its standard-length counterpart (see video). This implies a 1.5T engine and a pair of electric motors summing up for 443 PS (437 hp / 326 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. A 35-kWh battery pack gives the regular Raptor up to 200 kilometers (124 miles) of CLTC-rated electric range, but that added seat row will likely subtract from it.
