The new Honda Civic Type R has reached its North Loop testing stage. Its conspicuous red camo sets it apart from all other vehicles on the track.
The photographer who took these photos claims it was the very first time the CTR was spotted on the infamous Green Hell circuit. The radiator grille pattern can be clearly seen despite the wrap, and the same applies to the partially covered large air intakes.
A look past the dark wheel spokes reveals Brembo calipers, while the front fenders have rear-facing vents. A large rear wing sits on the trunk lid along with a spoiler, and there is a single rear window wiper installed. One has to wonder how much this ensemble of parts affects visibility.
According to the latest reports, the Civic Type R will come equipped with an improved version of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In its current form, the engine produces 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW).
The launch remains scheduled for 2022.
