Hongqi refreshes its biggest sedan, the H9

The 2026 Hongqi H9 features a revised exterior and improved interior while keeping the same powertrain options. Sales in China should begin soon, with the exports expected to follow in a few months.

Exterior novelty boils down to a revised grille, retouched headlights and taillights, and an added LiDAR above the windshield. A closer look at the front wheel arches reveals new sensors there as well, suggesting that Hongqi decided to equip the H9 with the latest ADAS features. That’s a reasonable decision considering China’s highly competitive market, but we have yet to hear the details about these new features.

Inside, the digital dash display and the front passenger-side display are now merged into a single screen spanning the entire width of the dashboard. Unusually enough, the infotainment system retains its tablet-like display in the middle for some reason. The transmission lever now resides on the steering column, freeing up space for a single wireless charger on the tunnel. Rear seat occupants enjoy seats with heating, ventilation and massage features.

For the engine, your options are still limited to a 2.0-liter four-pot rated at 252 PS (249 hp / 185 kW), a 3.0-liter V6 with 283 PS (279 hp / 208 kW), and a hybrid powertrain based on the four-cylinder option mentioned above.
