Electric vehicles with artificial sound generators aren’t exactly uncommon, but Hyundai’s latest teaser suggests that the company tries hard to come up with an immersive and exciting soundtrack for the soon-to-be-released Ioniq 5 N.
The video follows a disguised pre-production car as it cruises the streets of Seoul and a road in central Namyangju. The noises it makes originate from N Sound Plus, a system designed to imitate the ICE soundtrack. Should the owner dislike the effects, they will be able to download alternative ones, including their own recordings.
The ad also makes it clear what the previously announced virtual gear shifting mode looks like. Apparently, when you shift down a gear the car imitates a slight jolt and higher engine revs.
