A 1993 Jaguar XJ220, number 223 out of 281 units assembled in total, is up for grabs in California with only 25 km (15 miles) on the odometer. The asking price is available strictly upon request and could be seven-digit, considering the condition and status of the car.
A 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 rated at 550 PS (542 hp / 405 kW) and 645 Nm (476 lb-ft) of torque made the XJ model the world’s fastest at its launch date. With a recorded top speed of 341.7 km/h (212.3 mph), it had stayed in the Guinness Book for several years until the McLaren F1 came around.
The company’s original plans were for at least 1,500 production units, but worsening economic situation in the 1990s led to the supercar market shrinking. This particular example left the factory premises on October 26, 1993. Its Swiss buyer used it exclusively as a museum exhibit. He proceeded to sell it 17 years later. Having gone through multiple owners, the coupe ultimately landed in California in December 2021.
The seller claims the vehicle is in superb condition, although some maintenance may be required before everything is top-notch. Included in the sale are an OEM toolkit, a first aid kit, documents and assorted spare parts.
