Kahn presents its vision of a swell London taxi

British tune-up shop Kahn Design has unveiled its take on the LEVC TX5 taxi cab. Dubiously dubbed the Farelady, the car boasts many premium brand styling cues and is already available to order starting from £99,000 (U.S. $121,000) before taxes.

On the outside, the Farelady wears a Maybach-style radiator grille, a roof spoiler, a light box on the roof spelling out “V.I.P.” for those who didn’t get the message, as well as custom forged rims sized 18 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear. B Beautiful wheels are one of the primary specializations of Afzal Kahn and his company, so we were looking forward so seeing some here as well.

Inside, the rear seats come trimmed in diamond-stitched leather and are divided by a console with cupholders; it almost looks like someone drew inspiration from the Bugatti Chiron here. Also included in the project are extra USB ports, a wireless gadget charger, and adjustable LED lighting. Customers can order their own cabin layout and design and even choose between left- and right-hand drive.

This is not the first time Kahn Design works on taxis. Back in 2017, when Geely-owned London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) was still called “London Taxi Company”, it contracted Kahn to produce a farewell edition of its previous taxi cab model, the TX4. All five vehicles from that “Last of Line” edition currently reside in private collections (see video).
