Lamborghini Urus finds use as a police car for carrying organ transplants

The Italian supercar maker has already handed over the sixth specialized vehicle to the country’s law enforcement bodies. This time around it’s a Urus Performante modified for human organ transportation.

The car features a spacious refrigerator with precise temperature control and another, portable one for blood plasma. The police in Italy are already using similarly modded Gallardo and Huracan models, so the Urus is nothing new.

On the outside, the luxury police SUV sports a white and light blue livery with the appropriate graphics and lettering, a light bar on the roof and a siren. Italian flag ornaments round off the styling. A peek inside reveals an added armored compartment for weapons, a defibrillator and a hinged dash display.

From the technical point of view, the car is a Performance spec armed with a twin-turbocharged V8. It delivers 666 PS (657 hp / 490 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels, a minor improvement over the already impressive stock 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW). It needs 3.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and can reach 306 km/h (190 mph) in a straight line.
