Maserati Grecale spied testing for the first time

The trident brand’s most popular vehicle – the Grecale crossover – seems to be undergoing a facelift that leaves its exterior virtually intact while focusing on tech.

Based on these photos posted on Carscoops, the car gets a revised front bumper and pretty much no other exterior modifications. At least, the bumper is the only area that’s draped over at all.

It may seem that the interior also stays stock, until you notice a tiny stickied-over display on top of the middle of the dash. The current Grecale uses it to display widgets like compass or current time, and it looks like Maserati wants to refresh this part somehow.

As for the powertrains, they are largely market-specific. Depending on where you live, the Grecale can be obtained with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a twin-turbo V6, or a full-electric powertrain known as the Folgore. The range-topping Trofeo spec burns gas for 530 PS (523 hp / 390 kW), while the Folgore uses dual motors to send 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) to the wheels. It also runs out of juice after 443 km (275 miles) per the EPA test cycle. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Maserati updating its entire powertrain lineup to keep it competitive with extra power, torque, and range.

The premiere date remains to be announced. We expect the new Grecale to go on sale as a model year 2027 vehicle.
