After amassing a portfolio of cool interior makeovers, Polish car boutique Carlex Design made a successful upmarket move. This diamond-finished Mercedes-Benz G 63 is one of its latest and craziest works.
According to the company, the off-white exterior paint coat was mixed with a whole kilogram of diamond powder. The resulting shade of white scintillates like diamonds in direct sun and looks almost pearlescent in the shade – at least, insofar as we can judge by the photos provided.
Aside from this ultra-expensive paint, the SUV ended up with a whole widebody kit including fender extensions, a new radiator grille, chrome front bumper inserts and lightweight alloy wheels in retro-style whitewall tires. The interior received a completely new trim featuring Himalaya crocodile leather, white and brown regular leather, and generous amounts of artificial suede.
Carlex isn’t particularly known for its engine tunes, so we suppose this G-Wagon still sends 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW) to the wheels – plenty for most uses. Interestingly enough, the company decided to talk pricing this time around, revealing that the whole conversion cost around €1.5 million.
