Mercedes-AMG G 63 4x42 ramps up exclusivity value in new Mansory Gronos guise

The Mercedes G-Class is widely regarded as one of this world’s most capable off-roaders, and its 4x42 modifications is especially hardcore with its robust portal axles and other top-end components. Still, those looking for the absolute best can contact Mansory for an exclusive makeover.

Modifications begin on the outside with the installation of an extensive body kit. The arches get flared, the hood is replaced with a carbon-fiber counterpart, and rugged trims get installed all around for scratch protection. Interestingly, while the SUV looks as bricky as ever, Mansory claims it performs much better from the aerodynamic point of view with the upgrades. There are no specifics, though.

For the wheels, the German tuning shop settles on 22-inch forged rims shod in Pirelli all-terrain tires sized 325/55 R22 all around. The interior gets a makeover in white and blue leather with an engine start-stop button on the ceiling and two particularly comfortable seats in the back row separated by a console.

Powering the ride is a four-liter engine boosted to 850 PS (838 hp / 625 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. The tuning company says it takes the Gronos 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph). The top speed remains electronically capped at 210 km/h (130 mph).

Only 10 examples are queued for production. All prices are private, but you can make an informed guess based on the fact that the SUV itself starts from U.S. $350,000 before any tuning.
