The new all-electric Mercedes-Benz VLE is expected to phase out the V-Class business van lineup in Europe and the United States after its launch in late 2026 or early 2027.
The standard model is 5,309 millimeters (207.4 inches) long with 3,342 mm (130.5 in) between the axles. Its long-wheelbase counterpart gets a body that’s 5,484 mm (214.2 in) long and a wheelbase spanning 3,517 mm (137.4 in). Both feature a five-door body with sliding rear passenger doors and a purely decorative chrome grille at the front end. Seat come arranged in three rows, with customers choosing from 6, 7 or 8 total places.
Trim options span the spectrum from low-end to luxury. For example, the cheapest rear seats come with manual adjustments and little else, while premium seats get ventilation, massage and power adjustments. Further options include a 31.3-inch, 8K-resolution plasma TV, a 22-speaker audio system and other high-end extras. At the same time, the passenger space makes intensive use of some of the cheapest materials available, such as imitation leather, recycled fabrics, and plastic.
For the propulsion, the van can be fitted with either one or two electric motors. The FWD version is good for 276 PS (272 hp / 203 kW), while its AWD counterpart can do 415 PS (409 hp / 305 kW). The battery is 115 kWh large, but all range measurements remain to be revealed. Mercedes promises us air-ride suspension and rear-wheel steering for easier urban driving.
The production will be handled by the Mercedes factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.
