Nissan Magnite debuts in production form

Nissan’s smallest crossover SUV to date – the Magnite – is now officially a production model slated to arrive in India in 2021.

The subcompact vehicle packs an impressive amount of ground clearance – 205 millimeters – and has a respectable 336 liters of trunk space with the seats raised.

While it mostly looks like the Magnite Concept showcased in July this year, the wheels and the side mirrors look much tamer, the radiator grille is missing chrome bars, the bumpers are different, and there is a large model name caption on the tailgate.

The options list is quite extensive and includes LED headlights, engine start/stop system, 360-degree cameras, cruise control, wireless phone charging, JBL audio, digital dash and an 8-inch infotainment display.

Customers can choose between a 1.0-liter non-turbo engine good for 72 hp (54 kW) and a turbocharged three-cylinder one rated at 95 hp (71 kW). Transmissions include CVT and manual. The drive stays fixed on the front axle.

The Magnite has a status of an international model, which means it might expand to other markets later on.
