Video: GT-R Nismo vs. R8 Performance vs. 911 Turbo S

CarWOW has arranged a drag strip meeting between a Nissan GT-R Nismo tuned in the house, an Audi R8 Performance, and a Porsche 911 (992) Turbo S. As usual, three races were held, including a standing start, a rolling start, and a brake efficiency test.

At just 1,595 kg (3,516 lbs), the R8 Performance is the lightest of the three. At £144,000 in the UK, it is also the most affordable, if not exactly cheap. Its 5.2-liter V10 churns out 620 PS (611 hp / 456 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is tasked with delivering the momentum to the wheels.

Powering the 911 Turbo S is a 3.75-liter flat-six turbo that packs 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed PDK transmission drives the wheels, and the curb weight is kept down to 1,650 kg (3,637 lbs). Prices start at roughly £156,000.

The GT-R Nismo is the heaviest at 1,725 kg (3,803 lbs) and the costliest (£180,000) of the trio. Its twin-turbo V6 pumps out 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) and 652 Nm (481 lb-ft) of torque to a six-speed DCT with preselection. To put things into perspective, the base GT-R spec costs only half the Nismo price while still offering a healthy 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW).

In the races that ensued, the Japanese car won no awards, while the 911 Turbo S has once again proven its capability to dethrone much more expensive and faster-going supercars.
