Porsche gets ready to unveil a mysterious new 911 on June 29

The French subdivision of Porsche has released a teaser of a new 911 sports car set to debut tomorrow, June 29. The date coincides with the start of Le Mans Classic.

The teaser image has a Porsche 356 SL standing in the background. The same model (see video) won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951.

Zooming in on the image and lifting the shadows lets you see the caption ‘Porsche’ and the number 911 underneath it. The rear bumper is also partially visible and resembles that of the current Carrera. It also doesn’t look like the upcoming 911 ST at all.

If we had to guess, we would say Porsche may be preparing a special edition of the latest 911 for just one market (France, considering the origin of the teaser pic). That said, it might as well be a limited series targeting multiple markets around the world. For instance, the recently introduced Porsche GTS celebrated the company’s 30 years in business in Thailand.
