World’s first Porsche Macan drift car runs an Audi engine

FCP Euro, a parts vendor chiefly for vehicles made in the EU, has paid a visit to this year’s SEMA with an Audi-swapped Porsche Macan. The company claims it’s the world’s first drift-focused Macan build, and with more than 600 horsepower on tap, it should be a hoot to slide into corners.

Like any self-respecting drift machine, this one has a bold body kit, lowered suspension and a hydraulic handbrake. Aston x Moton Suspension has it covered with an air-jack system, the shocks are three-way adjustable, and the Rotiform alloy wheels have quite a bit of negative camber on the front axle. A peek behind the spokes reveals 034 Motorsport brake calipers with a bright red finish.

As one would expect, the interior is clean and has little to offer besides a roll cage and four bucket seats with racing harnesses. The transmission tunnel houses a massive brake lever and a special control panel, while the steering wheel is attached in a quick-release fashion.

Last but not least, the stock V6 vacates its space under the hood for a 4.0-liter V8 borrowed from a 2014 Audi RS 7. Improved air intake, a performance intercooler and other modifications allow it to run without overheating in the Macan’s tight engine quarters while delivering more than 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) to the rear wheels. The transmission is a ZF ten-speed automatic.

FCP Euro says it has no plans for another Macan like this, but the one it built will spend its next several months sliding on the popular U.S. tracks as a “drift taxi”. If you’re an enthusiast who always wanted to experience the thrills of a pro-level drift course but never found the courage (or time to train), this could be your chance to do so in a Macan, of all options.
