Renault has come to the Duesseldorf Expo with a production-ready campervan called the Trafic Space Nomad and a design study dubbed the Hippie Caviar Hotel, both with a pop-off roof. We have already covered the former, so let’s focus on the latter.
According to Renault, the touring campervan provides all the luxury of a five-star hotel suite, ranging from exquisite trimming materials to original design ideas.
One of these comes in the form of a bed that you can draw out of the rear end for a nap in the open air. Curtains are provided for a certain degree of privacy, and you can easily transform the bed into a sofa if needed.
When the roof tent is folded down, there is a terrace up there with two detachable seat backs and a cocktail table. Moving down into the cabin, there is natural leather used throughout in combination with exotic wood, linen, wool, and a modified, plant-derived variety of polyurethane foam.
To complete the ‘five-star hotel’ impression, Renault claims the hypothetical owners of the Hippie Caviar Hotel Concept would be able to order food and other necessities delivered to their current geolocation via fully autonomous air drones.
