Rivian R2 gets roof tent and kitchenette accessories

The just-introduced electric SUV, Rivian R2, will only reach the mass market in two years at best, but the American automaker is already busy populating its accessory lineup. Like its senior siblings R1S and R1T, the vehicle is marketed towards active leisure enthusiasts, so it can use a variety of options in that regard. Here are some of them.

Starting with the trunk, you can put a well-appointed kitchenette into it. It’s called Travel Kitchen and includes an induction stove, a fridge, a water tank and a cupboard complete with tableware. An outdoor lantern is provided for cooking outside in the dark.

Another option for the rear end comes in the form of a practical coffer with two handles for carrying and miniature wheels for rolling. Rivian says it will come in handy for stashing things like dirty clothing and any items you wouldn’t put in the trunk. As an alternative option, there’s a bike rack for two bikes that you can install and remove with your hands, no tools required.

All seats can be completely folded down do improvise a bed. One more sleeping area can be created on the roof with the help of a tent accessory called Treehouse. It comes with an access ladder.

All pricing details are pending.
