Сhangan has facelifted its Uni-V five-door liftback and is upselling it as a “new generation” on the domestic market. Losing the radiator grille helped reduce the drag ratio from 0.33 to 0.27, and some changes were made to the cabin, but overall, the car isn’t too different from its older version.
Prices currently start from 114,900 Yuan and are liable to rise once the preordering period is over. On the exterior side of things, the new Uni-V sports a different front fascia with a solid panel at the top and a large honeycomb grille at the bottom. It rides on new wheels, has traditional door handles and sports an illuminated Changan logo at the rear.
The dashboard accommodates a digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch infotainment display with a row of physical buttons underneath. The console has two wireless charging pads on it, and the steering wheel now has a dedicated button for engaging Super Race mode. Once activated, it raises the rear wing and switches all drivetrain settings to sportier values.
Options include 256-color ambient lighting, 18 audio speakers, 19-inch wheels, an ADAS package, six airbags and surround-view cameras with an included transparent hood mode.
The only spec available for ordering in China right now packs a 2.0-liter engine mated to an Aisin 8AT and producing 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW). A cheaper alternative with a 1.5-liter engine, 7DCT and 192 PS (189 hp / 141 kW) will be added to the lineup later, Changan says.
