Michael Lohscheller is the new Polestar CEO

The loss-generating Swedish EV company has found a new boss to lead it through the crisis.

On October 1, 2024, current CEO Thomas Ingenlath will step down after seven years at the rudder. He will hand over the keys from the office to Michael Lohscheller, who had previously occupied executive positions at Opel, VinFast and Nikola.

It remains to be seen how Lohscheller – who had been unemployed since September 2023 – manages to salvage the floundering business of Polestar and make it profitable again. If anything, his track record so far doesn’t inspire a great deal of confidence.
