Video: 847-HP Cadillac restomod pretends to be stock

Many of us have reasons to believe that the best restomods are those that manage to conceal their modern parts beneath a retro shell. This 1960 Cadillac is a brilliant example of this.

Roadster Shop built the car on a custom chassis with per-wheel suspension, finishing the restored body in silver and replacing the OEM wheels with aftermarket ones wearing chromed “moon discs”. In fact, their size might be the only thing giving away the sleeper: at 18 inches front and 19 inches rear, the rims are a touch large for a classical car of this type.

The solid discs conceal Brembo brake calipers, while tires sport fashionable white walls. The ride height is about as low as it gets, and the cabin tries to look as period accurate as possible. The silver accents, wood inserts and polished details come from the GM catalog and look solid together, but we have our doubts about that digital dash screen.

A supercharged eight-cylinder propels the exotic ride with 859 PS (847 hp / 632 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed manual transmission sends the momentum to the rear.
