The Suzuki Vitara family in Europe will welcome its first full-fledged hybrid member in the first quarter of 2022.
The powertrain includes an electric motor rated at 33 PS (32 hp / 24 kW) and a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder burning gasoline for 102 PS (100 hp / 75 kW). By default, the motor assists the main engine during initial acceleration when thrust is required most of all, but it can also work independently. The system output maxes out at 115 PS (113 hp / 85 kW). When braking, the motor regenerates a part of the power into the battery.
Buyers will be able to obtain the new Suzuki Vitara 1.5 Dualjet Hybrid in two trim levels called Comfort and Comfort Plus, both of which will be available with front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Even the most basic configuration has lane control, active brake assist, drowsiness alert, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, parking assistance and reversing camera.
Vitara Hybrid prices in Germany will begin at €29,150.
