Toyota Corolla Cross gears up for some off-roading

Toyota has unveiled another car from its SEMA show lineup. It is a part-electric Corolla Cross turned into an active leisure companion with the help of the company’s off-road accessories. It’s called “Nasu Edition” and will be exhibited alongside two dozen other vehicles.

Starting at the front end, additions begin with a rugged front bumper sporting fang-like trims around yellow recovery eyes. The wheel arches are flared and house new wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T III tires. The company also mentions a “bespoke lift kit” created specifically for the latest Corolla Cross, but doesn’t reveal any details.

Further modifications include a roof rack, sand tracks, a storage organizer, a trunk fridge and a mountain bike rack. The interior is also far from stock, but Toyota wants us to wait until the show to see it.

Asked about the purpose of the build, the automaker said it was created to demonstrate that even its crossovers can make decent light off-roaders – no frame required.
