VW Crafter facelift revealed with major interior updates, due out in spring 2024

Volkswagen has been making its Crafter van for over a decade and a half now. The model went into its next generation in 2016 and is now being prepared for a planned facelift. The sales will begin in the spring of 2024.

The automaker has posted a number of sketches previewing the new Crafter, and it looks like the exterior has barely changed at all. The lower apron at the front and the grille look subtly different, but that’s about it.

Much more is going on inside. The dashboard has a standalone infotainment tablet in the middle, just like in the ID. Buzz. It is 10.3 inches large in the base version and 12.9 inches large in the higher trim levels. The dashboard is digital, and the transmission selector is installed at the steering wheel. The traditional handbrake has been replaced with an electric one, and a number of safety aids have been added.

According to the company’s official spec sheet for the 2024 Crafter, the engine options remain unchanged. Like before, you can choose from three turbo four-pots rated at 140, 163 and 177 Euro horsepower (138, 161 and 175 American hp; 103, 120 and 130 kilowatts, accordingly).
