Volkswagen refreshes the ID. Buzz van, but only in Europe

The all-electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz MPV has been subtly updated for the EU region, with the sales scheduled to begin this summer. At the same time, the model has quietly dropped from the North American market.

The exterior seems to be largely unchanged, with most changes focused on the interior and the powertrain. Inside, a new infotainment system promises an improved user experience with a redesigned interface and added online services. True to its decision to bring the physical buttons back, Volkswagen has also put these in place of some capacitive controls, although the sliders under the main display are still touch-sensitive.

Those interested in the ID. Buzz will appreciate to know that a more affordable trim called Pro 4Motion is heading to the showroom floors. Compared to the old (and rather expensive) GTX spec, it has the same power output at 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) and comes with the same batteries 79 and 86 kilowatt-hours large. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) still takes 6.5 seconds.

Feature-wise, the refreshed ID.Buzz gets single-pedal driving, traffic light awareness and power sockets for plugging in external appliances.

Commenting on the discontinuation of the U.S. minivan, Volkswagen promised to bring it back for the model year 2027. At the same time, there’s no avoiding the fact that the ID. Buzz has sold poorly in North America so far, with the company reporting barely over 6,000 units sold for the entire 2025. In other words, we cannot help but be a bit skeptical regarding the model’s future in the United States.
