Volvo has shared an image of its first minivan so far – the EM90, which was deigned primarily for the market of China and is set to premiere in that country o November 12, 2023.
The image shows the car from a top-down perspective, so there is little to say about its individual features. Thankfully, we have some spy photos as well, suggesting that the MPV has a boxy exterior with slim lights all around and an unusual, curved shoulder line.
This bend is what makes us think that the EM90 might be related to the Zeekr 009 (see video). After all, both brand are controlled by Geely. If the assumption is correct, then the van will likely go on sale packing an all-electric powertrain rated at 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW). The CLTC-rated driving range of the Zeekr 009 is 820 kilometers, or 510 miles.
Another hypothesis is that Volvo may choose to equip the EM90 with the powertrain of its own EX90 SUV. If so, it may not exceed 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW).
