Volvo has posted a handful of new photos of its upcoming all-electric minivan, the EM90, and called it a ‘living room on wheels’, alluding to a comparable level of comfort and safety.
The body of the car is manufactured from particularly robust materials including boron steel. Like the Zeekr 009 it is based upon, the EM90 has twin a-pillars. Volvo claims they provide additional protection by further improving the rigidity of the body. It also mentions a state-of-the-art battery housing and advanced driver assist systems. The latter is made possible thanks to numerous radars, sensors and high-resolution cameras.
A climate control system with a fine particulate filter ensures maximum comfort for everyone inside the van, Volvo says. It also mentions a 21-speaker Bowers&Wilkins audio system summing up to 2,460W. Some of the satellites are built into the headrests for a more immersive experience. Aside from that, one of the photos shows a panoramic sunroof.
The Volvo EM90 will be released in China on November 12, with the other markets set to follow later.
