Rare LWB Volvo S80 crops up on sale in Sweden

The Volvo S80 executive saloon has an “L” version for China, but that one’s not an official Volvo product. The car seen here is much closer to that status, and it’s up for sale in Sweden right now.

Local company Nilsson Special Vehicles produced only 16 stretched S80 models like this one for interested businesses. Customers were invited to decide how much longer than stock their car needed to be. This particular example was stretched by 150 mm (almost 6 inches). A quick glance at the side will immediately tell you where the extra body section was added – it’s between the front and rear doors.

Nilsson didn’t bother with any other technical modifications, but took care to outfit the interior to the highest spec. The car on sale ended up with displays built into the front seat headrests, plush floor mats, heated seats all around and handy power sockets. A new console with cup holders appeared between the rear seats, and the owner ordered a pair of high-end wireless headphones as well.

Powering the Swedish exotic is a 4.4-liter Yamaha V8 rated at 315 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) and 325 Nm (240 lb-ft) of torque. All-wheel-drive is included as standard.

The car on sale has a touch under 56,000 km (35,000 miles) under its belt and is estimated at €33,000 or so.
