Alfa Romeo Giulia spied getting its first update in 7 years

Alfa Romeo introduced the Giulia sedan seven long years ago, so it was high time the car received some attention from the design team to stay relevant over the next few years.

A heavily cladded pre-production example was spotted testing on the streets just this weekend. Despite all the mascara, the car looks barely different from before. Judging by the wheels and the quad tailpipes at both sides of the rear diffuser, this is a Veloce spec standing just under the flagship Quadrifoglio spec. Headlights and Tonale-style taillights seem to be the only new elements so far.

It remains to be seen how the interior will change. The analog dashboard is perhaps the main thing that makes the current Giulia look seriously outdated. The Tonale mentioned above lacks analog gauges, and we would be surprised if there were no digital dash in the new sedan.

In an earlier announcement, Alfa Romeo confirmed that the next-gen Giulia would be completely electric. As such, this facelift could be one of the marque’s last production cars still running on fossil fuel.
