Chery sub-brand Jetour has launched the much-anticipated Zongheng G700 in China. The full-size frame-based off-roader is currently available in four configurations priced from 349,900 to 429,900 Yuan, coming comfortably ahead of its main rivals Tank 700 Hi4-T (428,000+ CNY) and Fang Cheng Bao Leopard 8 (379,800+ CNY).
The SUV is 5,198 mm (203 in) long, 2,050 mm (80 in) wide and 1,956 mm (76.4 in) tall with 2,870 mm (112.1 in) between the axles. It seats five people but can be turned into a six-seater for a 8,000-Yuan premium. The base trim includes 18-inch wheels, a 15.6-inch infotainment system, heated/ventilated front seats, ACC, surround cameras and a wireless charging pad for smartphones.
Paying extra unlocks 20-inch wheels, adjustable air suspension, Nappa leather upholstery, massage-enabled seats in two rows, a ceiling-mounted display for the back row, and a Huawei ADS package with a LiDAR mounted just above the windshield.
Powering the off-roader is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine assisted by dual electric motors. Together they push 762 PS (750 hp / 560 kW) and 795 Nm (586 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels and cover up to 1,400 km (870 miles) on a full tank and battery. All-electric driving drains the 34.1-kWh battery pack on board after just 150 kilometers (93 miles), CLTC-rated.
Prior to launch, Jetour praised the SUV for its capability to wade water and even stay afloat without getting waterlogged for 40 minutes straight. It remains to be seen how well the vehicle fares in that respect. While preorders are already being processed, offline sales and actual deliveries in China won’t start until October 19th – that’s nearly a month of waiting left.
Now that it has launched the G700, Zongheng will be switching attention to its next two body-on-frame hybrids – the full-size SUV known as the G900 and the pickup truck called the F700. Both debuted as concepts in early 2025, and we’ve seen the truck running pre-production tests in China before, so it should be close to debut. All we know is that it is based on the same platform and tech as the G700 seen here.
