Bentley launches production of the next-gen Continental GT

The fourth generation of the Bentley Continental GT has begun rolling off the automaker’s assembly line in Crewe, UK.

The start date was specifically chosen to coincide with the birthday of the company’s historical founder, Walter Owain Bentley. The first production batch will consist exclusively of the flagship spec Speed, which uses a powertrain called Ultra Performance Hybrid to deliver a combined 782 PS (771 hp / 575 kW) to the wheels.

The first car has already been finished in green and sent to the Bentley press vehicle fleet. The company plans to put it into its museum afterwards.
