Carwow has pitted a BMW M2 up against a BMW XM on a quarter-mile strip of tarmac. The match looks unlikely at best, so let’s review the stats.
The M2 utilizes a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-banger rated at 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. In turn, the XM benefits from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 assisted by an electric motor. It dominates over the M2 with 653 PS (644 hp / 400 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft).
For the transmission, both use an eight-speed automatic design with a hydraulic torque convertor, even though you can also find manual M2 models out there. The XM has all-wheel drive, and it looks like the only real advantage the M2 has over its opponent is curb weight. The difference is massive, so you’d be better off just watching the races yourself.
