Report: Rimac and Porsche to acquire Bugatti

We first heard around a year ago that the Bugatti brand might end up in the hands of Rimac, and this week, new details about the supposed deal leaked out.

According to Manager Magazin, the Croatian hypercar builder wants to create a joint enterprise with Porsche, in which Rimac will possess a 55% share in Bugatti and Porsche the remaining 45%. This new joint enterprise will then manage the Bugatti brand.

It is certainly worth remembering in this context that Porsche itself is a major shareholder in Rimac, having initially acquired 10% and currently holding 24% in the company. In turn, Rimac considers Porsche a choice client and supplies the automotive giant with innovative mechanical components and solutions.

The latest premiere of the Croatian carmaker was dedicated to an all-electric hypercar named Nevera (peek inside our gallery and watch the video for more). The model is slated to become one of the world’s most powerful production cars when it starts shipping. Later on, the company plans to enter the stock market.
