Introducing their new 8th-gen Corvette, Chevrolet did hint that it would not be too pricey - but this actually seems like an understatement now that the pricing has been revealed.
Prices in the United States start from $60,000, which represents a meager $3,000 premium over the previous-gen Corvette. Don’t be fooled by the ‘basic trim’ stereotype: the newcomer boasts leather-trimmed seats, power adjustments for the driver’s seat, a 12-inch digital dash, an 8-inch multimedia display, a two-zone climate control and much, much more.
The options are abundant and may actually ramp the total up pretty quickly. For instance, there is the Z51 Performance package that includes stiffer suspension, Brembo brakes and other sporty upgrades. The top trim version begins at $71,000 before any extras.
Finally, it looks like there is hardly any competition for the Chevy Corvette C8 in its price segment. The Lexus LC500 (470 hp / 350 kW) comes priced at $95,000, the Jaguar F-Type R (550 hp / 410 kW) at $103,000, the Porsche 911 Carrera S (450 hp / 336 kW) at $115,000 and the Acura NSX Hybrid (580 hp / 433 kW) at $159,000.
