Tuned Chevy Corvette crosses the 300,000-mile mark on all-original parts

There’s an opinion that tuning tends to shorten the lifetime of any engine not designed to handle the additional load. While true in principle, Callaway Cars has seemingly proven that a regular 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport can be boosted by almost 50% and proceed to travel 300,000 miles (482,803 kilometers) without a single major overhaul.

When it left the factory, this Corvette had a normal 6.2-liter LS3 V8 under the hood that made around 435 PS (429 hp / 320 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) without any forced induction. Once equipped with an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, an intercooler and a performance exhaust system, it managed 606 PS (598 hp / 446 kW) and 750 Nm (516 lb-ft) on the dyno.

Despite its impressive mileage, the 16-year-old sports car has somehow managed to carry on without any repairs to its cylinder assembly, pistons or transmission, the owner claims. With little besides timely maintenance, it’s still in fine driving condition and is being driven daily.
