Huawei’s latest vehicle is a full-size SUV called the Epicland X9

Epicland, a car brand co-created between Dongfeng and Huawei in China this spring, has unveiled some photos and technical specifications of its first vehicle – the X9.

Based on the images above, the SUV hasn’t changed too much since its debut at the Auto Beijing expo (see video). It still features a solid panel where the radiator grille usually is, drag-reducing flaps in the lower bumper, stacked headlights and a single pixelated brake light spanning the entire width of the rear end.

Sized 5,301 x 2,015 x 1,805 millimeters (208.7 x 79.3 x 71.1 inches) large with 3,120 mm (122.8 inches) between the axles, the Epicland X9 is a beast of a full-size crossover. It’s probably worth noting that Huawei already has a similarly sized SUV in its portfolio – the Aito M9, which also happens to have very similar body proportions. It’s hard to say right now whether the two are related and how closely, but we should be able to find that out soon enough.

A peek inside reveals a giant two-part display unit on the dash, a three-spoke steering wheel and a heads-up display with AR capabilities instead of a regular digital dash. The images seem to only show a six-seat version of the SUV, but other variants may be coming to the market as well.

Power for the wheels comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated with multiple e-motors. All details remain to be revealed; all we know is that the battery pack is rated at 51.46 kilowatt-hours.

The first deliveries of the Epicland X9 are scheduled for this year, so the premiere should be right around the corner.
