This Ferrari F50 looks poised to sell for $6.5 million

The eighth out of 349 total produced Ferrari F50 units will go on sale in the United States in December with only 1,006 km (625 miles) under its belt to show for being 27 years old. This prompts the seller to evaluate it between $5.5 and $6.5 million.

Ferrari spent four years designing the F50 flagship for the company’s 50th anniversary. It used carbon fiber, Kevlar and other innovative materials along with state-of-the-art racecar tech for the model (see video). The F50 also introduced to the world a 4.7-liter V12 built with a racecar engine block as a starting point. It was mated to a six-speed manual transmission and an LSD and churned out 519 PS (512 hp / 382 kW) along with 471 Nm (347 lb-ft) of torque/

This particular vehicle was assembled from July until October 1995, and its first owner took delivery of it in Singapore in November that year. The seller claims the car only had two owners throughout its life, and the mileage suggests that both treated it as a collection piece or a museum exhibit. It was reportedly regularly maintained and received a Ferrari Classiche certificate eight years ago.
