Ford Bronco owners complain about soft-top wear-and-tear after 4 weeks of use

The launch of the new Ford Bronco was far from ideal due to numerous delays, and now it seems that those lucky enough to get their SUVs ahead of the others weren’t as lucky, after all.

Based on conversations on the Bronco6G forum and the attached photos, the soft top of the new Bronco may occasionally not fold down as expected, which results in excessive wear-and-tear showing one the driver’s side of the roof after only four weeks of use. The passenger’s side also appears damaged, albeit to a lesser extent.

The original poster did a bit of research and found that the issue occurs with the top folded down: apparently, it rubs against hard plastic in that position. Perhaps more importantly, he also noticed that the top folded down differently every time he did it, suggesting an issue with the folding mechanism.

In the attached video, another Bronco owner reports a similar issue. His $63,000 crossover comes equipped with a removable hardtop that vibrates jarringly even at lower driving speeds. He claims that he never took off the top, but it still started showing signs of abnormal wear after a while.

Ford has not commented on these reports yet.
