Ford gets rid of its last hot hatch

The history of the Ford Focus ST is finally coming to an end as the factory in Saarlouis, Germany is no longer churning out new examples. The regular Focus is set to follow its example in November.

The original Focus ST debuted over 20 years ago. It was introduced in Europe in 2002 and proceeded to change four generations on that market. The latest generation came out in 2019 with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-banger rated at 280 PS (276 hp / 206 kW). It received its last facelift three years ago.

The final example made wore a red exterior finish as it rolled off the assembly line on September 26, 2025. Ford never mentioned any plans for it, not even the country it plans to ship the car to.

The standard Focus model will meet the same fate next month, leaving Ford Europe with only SUVs and off-roaders in the showrooms. If you are wondering where the Mondeo and the Fiesta went, they bowed out three years ago.
